Lock and Learn Contest

OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

Open to residents of Canada only and governed by Canadian Law

By entering this Contest, Participants agree to abide by these Official Rules. The decisions of the Independent Contest organization Sponsor with respect to all aspects of the Contest are final. The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin or Instagram.  You understand that you are providing your information to the Sponsor. The information you provide will be used to administer the Contest in accordance with the Sponsor’s privacy policy.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY: The Lock and Learn Contest (the “Contest”) is sponsored by Spectrum Brands Canada, Inc. for the  Weiser brand of locks with an address of 255 Longside Drive, Unit 101, Mississauga, ON, L5W0G7 (the “Sponsor”).  The Contest begins at 12:00:01 A.M. Eastern Time on February 24, 2021 and ends at 11:59:59 P.M. Daylight Savings Time (DST) on April 25, 2021 (the “Contest Period”).

1. ELIGIBILITY: To enter and be eligible to win, a person must (i) be a resident of Canada (excluding the residents of the province of Quebec); (ii) have reached the age of majority at time of entry in the province or territory in which they reside and; (iii) not be an employee of the Sponsor, or its affiliated companies, agents, or representatives, their respective advertising or promotional agencies, the Independent Contest organization or a member of any such employee’s immediate family (regardless of where they live) or be a person with whom any of the above are domiciled (whether related to the employee or not). In these Official Contest Rules & Regulations (the “Official Rules”), “immediate family” means mother, father, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters and/or legal or common-law spouse.

2. HOW TO ENTER: There are two (2) ways to enter the Contest:

Visit https://weiserlockandlearn.com/ and click on the “Weiser Lock and Learn” course link. Complete the steps as follows. First, confirm that you have read and agree to the Official rules. Each Participant acknowledges and agrees that: (a) they are voluntarily entering this Promotion and voluntarily consents and if a winner, gives Sponsor their mailing address. Second, complete the Weiser Lock and Learn E-learning Course (“E-learning Course”) available on Panopto which includes 6 recorded videos.  Third, complete the post-course quiz available at  bit.ly/2NV1JJr.  Participants must earn 80% or more on the quiz.

Upon doing so, you will receive one (1) entry into the Contest. All entries must be received by 11:59:59 PM (DST)  on April 25, 2021 (the “Contest Closing Date”).

Any Participant can earn additional entries into the Contest by completing the steps as follows. First, confirm that you have read and agree to the Official rules. Each Participant acknowledges and agrees that: (a) they are voluntarily entering this Promotion and voluntarily consents and if a winner, gives Sponsor their mailing address. Second, complete the E-learning Course available on Panopto which includes 6 recorded videos.  Third, complete the post-course quiz available at bit.ly/2NV1JJr. Participants must earn 80% or more on the quiz. Fourth, using the Hashtag #WeiserLockandLearn (the “Hashtag”) on any of the following social media platforms: LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with an account that can be clearly linked to their previous Contest entry via username. Upon doing so, each Participant can receive up to twenty (20) additional Contest entries. All posts must be posted by 11:59:59 PM (DST) on April 25, 2021 (the “Contest Closing Date”).

3. PRIZES: There will be 3 (three) prizes (the “Prizes”) available to be won during the Contest Period. There is one (1) Grand Prize of: a Playstation 5 game console, a Porter Backpack, a Weiser Halo™ Touch electronic deadbolt, a one-year subscription to Snack Box, a one-year subscription to Calm, Microban® products and $500 in Visa gift certificates. The approximate retail value of the package is $4,160.00 (CDN). There is one (1) secondary Prize of: a Porter Backpack, a Weiser Halo Touch electronic deadbolt, a one-year subscription to Snack Box, a one-year subscription to Calm, Microban® products and $500 in Visa gift certificates. The approximate retail value of the package is $2,660.00 (CDN). There is one (1) third prize of: a Porter Backpack, a Weiser Halo Touch electronic deadbolt, a one-year subscription to Snack Box, and a one-year subscription to Calm. The approximate retail value of the package is $1,660.00 (CDN). The manufacturer’s warranty applies to the Prizes. Upon being declared a Prize winner (see Rule 4), delivery of the Prizes will be coordinated with the winners by the Sponsor within thirty (30) days. The Sponsor will cover the delivery costs of the Prizes to each winner. The Prizes must be accepted as awarded without substitution and are not transferable, not for resale and have no cash surrender value. The Sponsor reserves the right, in the event that any one or more of the Prizes or any component of them cannot be awarded as described for any reason, to substitute another prize or component of a prize of equal or greater value, without liability.

4. DRAWS: A random draw of 3 (three) potential winners will take place in Mississauga, ON on April 26, 2021 (the “Draw Date”) from all eligible entries received by the Contest Closing Date. The odds of being selected for the Prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received by the Contest Closing Date. The selected Participant will be contacted by email within five (5) business days of the Draw Date. If any of the selected Participants (a) cannot be reached by email within five (5) business days of the Draw Date; then they will be disqualified and another Participant will be randomly selected until such time as contact is made by mail and/or telephone and/or email with a selected Participant or there are no more eligible entries, whichever comes first. The Sponsor will not be responsible for failed attempts to contact a selected Participant.

5. GENERAL: By entering the Contest, Participants agree to abide by the Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor with respect to all aspects of the Contest, which are final without right of appeal.  Sponsor reserves the right to amend the rules at any time and will post the revised rules on its website.

6. The Releasees (defined as Sponsor, Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and Instagram and their parents, affiliates, subsidiaries and related companies and their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives, agents, contractors, successors and assigns) accept no responsibility for any loss, damage or claims caused by or resulting from the Contest or the Prize. By entering, the winners consent to the use of their first names and last initials, addresses (city and province) and/or photographs, without further remuneration, in connection with any publicity carried out by or on behalf of the Sponsor.

7. The Releasees will not be responsible for late, lost, illegible, incomplete, falsified or destroyed entries and all such entries are void. Entries that have been falsified, tampered with or altered are void. The Sponsor and the Independent Contest organization will not be liable for any failure of the Contest Website, does not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer lines or networks, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. The use of an invalid tagged account will disqualify the entry. Users spamming the same account will disqualify the entry. In the event of a dispute, online entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder submitted at the time of entry.  “Authorized account holder” is defined as the person who manages the email address.  A selected Participant may be required to provide proof that they are the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the selected entry name change.  The sole determinant of the time for the purposes of a valid online entry in this Contest will be the Contest server machine(s).  In the event it is determined that a Participant has entered in a fashion not sanctioned by these rules and/or has submitted more than the number of entries permitted by these rules, the Participant will be disqualified and all of the entries submitted by the Participant will be disqualified.

8. All entries become the permanent property of the Sponsor and none will be returned. No correspondence will be entered into except with the selected Participant.  This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, territorial and municipal laws.  Except where prohibited by law, as a condition of participating in the Contest, Participants agree that any and all disputes and causes of action arising out of or connected with the Contest shall be resolved without any form of class action.

9. To be declared a winner, in addition to complying with the terms of these Official Rules, each eligible Participant randomly drawn shall be required to confirm that he/she has correctly answered the mathematical skill-testing question below:

Step 1 multiply 1000 x 100
Step 2 Add 4000 to the answer from Step 1
Step 3 Divide the answer from Step 2 by 50
Step 4 Subtract 1000 from the answer to Step 3

10. The Sponsor reserves the right to terminate, suspend or amend this Contest at any time and in any way, without prior notice. Without limiting the foregoing, if, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned, such as tampering or infection by computer virus, the Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel the Contest all together or to conduct the draw from all previously received eligible entries received by the Contest Closing Date. The Sponsor and the Independent Contest organization shall not be held responsible for any problems, errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest including but not limited, to any damage to a Participant’s computer equipment, system, software or any combination thereof, as a result of the Participant’s participation in this Contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.

11. Sponsor respects your right to privacy. Personal information collected from Participants will only be used by the Sponsor to administer the Contest and, only if consent is given at the time of entry, to provide the Participants with information regarding upcoming promotions and/or events from the Sponsor. If Participants provide consent when entering the Contest, Participants consent to the manner of collection, use and disclosure of personal information as set out in the Sponsors’ privacy policy, which is available at http://www.weiserlock.com/en/Legal.aspx.
